In the news, we all hear about global warming, dwindling natural resources and the greenhouse effect. These problems are continually worsening each year. Many world governments are trying to reduce their polluting emissions, but every person can also help by reducing the energy they use at home. There are many things you can do in your home that require very minimal effort yet can save a significant amount of electricity and money - this course will show you these.
The course will also highlight some important points to consider when designing a new house to make it as energy efficient as possible. These points can help to make your house warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer without the need for any heating or cooling.
By saving a small amount of electricity each day, you can prevent hundreds of kilograms of greenhouse gases being released into the atmosphere each year as well as save hundreds of dollars on your electricity bill.
The solar systems part of this course will explain all about what solar photovoltaic panels are and how to use them. The course will explain many different applications where solar power can be used and what equipment is required. Whether you live on the electricity grid or off, a solar system can be of great benefit. There is a detailed explanation about the different system components and which ones are best for your application. We will demonstrate how to estimate the energy required by your house as well as how such a system should be installed. The course will also describe the costs as well as the different rebates that are available for solar power installations.
This course will also cover any specific requirements for energy efficiency or solar systems that local Councils may have for their area. The Councils covered are Wyong and the Hunter region.
